1) Preliminaries
It normally starts with a chat with you over the phone, swapping questions and answers. We then send you an information pack including a Client Information Sheet for you to complete ready for an initial meeting.
2) No obligation, no fee meeting
We visit to learn more about the project and better understand you and your objectives. We answer more questions and offer wide-ranging initial advice.
3) Quotation
We supply you with a detailed quotation, broken down into clear sections with a payment schedule that reflects work and progress in a fair way to protect both sides.
4) Measured survey
If selected, we visit to conduct a measured survey, taking hundreds of measurements and photos. If you are available, this can be another opportunity to discuss any further thoughts on the project.
5) Design Work
We create a model of the existing situation in 3D CAD software and work to create one or more solutions to meet your objectives.
6) Design Review
You are supplied with a variety of 2D and 3D images – floor plans, elevations, variably transparent, cross-sections, “dolls’-house” / roof-off, internal, external, different materials – whatever is needed to make sure everyone understands the proposed solution/s. You can even download a viewer and the CAD model to navigate the design at your leisure. Any amendments can be tried out as required until the best solution is reached.
7) Planning
Once the design is agreed, we create and submit drawings and documents to implement the planning strategy. During the process we sometimes liaise with the planning officer for updates, queries and minor amendments to keep the application on track.
8) Building Regulations
In parallel or following closely on from planning, we prepare building plans, notes and details for the building regulations full applications (6-8 weeks) and notices (48 hours).
9) Build liaison
Prior to and during the build we can assist with extras such as a detailed quantity surveying estimation service to help you assess quotations and working with your structural engineer and/or builder before and during the build.
