Hiring the right architectural agency…

We are not the cheapest nor most expensive but are confident of our contribution in terms of the added value / financial returns we can help you achieve. In order to maintain our high standards and deliver a great service, we need to charge realistic fees.

We create a bespoke quotation for each client which lays things out with very clear bullet points showing a breakdown of work, costs and staged payments. There are no hidden costs. Most instructions include all the elements mentioned in “The Process” and the following gives typical ballpark costs and example projects:

Smaller projects: £4,000 – £6,000

  • Ground floor rear extension creating open plan family space
  • Loft conversion with compliant staircase and ensuite
  • Typically including:
    • survey
    • design
    • generic furniture layout
    • design reviews
    • lawful development certificate
    • detailed building regulations

Medium Projects: £6,000 – £12,000

  • A larger, more complex element (e.g. walk out basement with sloped terrain, hip to gable and dormer/s with ensuite, extensive reworked floor layout, contentious planning situations, etc)
  • Multiple smaller elements perhaps across different floors or complex terrain
  • Typically including:
    • survey
    • design
    • more detailed/complex fixture/fitting/furniture layout
    • design reviews
    • householder planning application with illustrated design statement
    • detailed building regulations

Larger Projects: £12,000+

  • New build houses and flats
  • Larger commercial and institutional work (e.g. restaurants, care homes, churches, etc)
  • Developments requiring advanced planning strategy (e.g. greenbelt/conservation/listed, multiple applications/appeals, neighbour consultations, etc)
  • Development partnership (e.g. finding land without planning permission / defective title  and delivering it back to you ready to build – or even fully built.)

We know from experience that  some visitors will think these figures are too high, others that they are suspiciously low. Fees are always agreed in advance, suitable to the project and work. We have seen enough harvests to be confident that we offer very good value.
