The majority of our work falls within the areas of architectural design, planning and building regulations but at Zollikon Architecture they do not exist in isolation. Whether reading through 19th century easements and obligations in your neighbour’s title deeds, researching the audio frequencies of your daughter’s drum kit or discussing the logistics of how you’d like to host friends and relatives in the future, many pieces of information must be held in relationship to many others from the word go. Failure to manage these interactions (e.g. by using distinct agencies or only appreciating the big picture too late) can lead to costly U-turns, needless compromises and frustration.

Design
We use professional 3D CAD software which helps everyone understand the design choices and final appearance before a brick is laid. You can see our ideas on a screen, in 2D and 3D, in the comfort of your home, office or other place of work. We are always happy to work collaboratively with any goals and ideas that you might have, so that you can be sure the final design is something you have helped inspire and hone to your exact needs.
Planning
We have a great track record in obtaining planning permissions – sometimes winning where others have spent years failing, sometimes winning Planning Inspectorate appeals to overturn local planning officers’ decisions. When the need arises we are able to use advanced techniques and leading expert associates to achieve more and better than clients have believed possible.
Building Regulations
The government now has 17 approved documents, each providing regulations covering an essential area, such as ‘structure’, ‘fire safety’, ‘ventilation’, etc. The rules interact with each other and change frequently. They also have legal force and every build must comply and be checked by a local building control department or approved inspector. Zollikon can provide the necessary specifications and detailing for your builder, structural engineer and inspector to ensure your building is comfortable, durable, safe and legal.
