It typically requires vision, hard work and competence – qualities our customers have come to value in Zollikon. At the end of the project, something has been created and improved, be it in terms of utility, beauty or both.


Planning for success…


And the rewards? One couple can now look forward to a more comfortable retirement with additional passive income because Zollikon succeeded in achieving their goals after a previous practice had given up after years trying. To hear of (and then hear) another customer driving in his new high performance Italian super-car following some highly profitable design and planning work from Zollikon (again brought in following a previous failed attempt) also gave great satisfaction – and no jealousy whatsoever!

In fact, it is a source of pride that there have been numerous instances of Zollikon beating the odds where other – bigger, more expensive, chartered – practices have failed, even to the point of one local planning department recommending us to a frustrated resident, despite their policy of not giving recommendations (we succeeded).

In other cases we showed how one house (next door to a double Oscar winner) could be doubled in size within greenbelt without needing council permission and how another large country estate could regularise and realise several million pounds of housing within its grounds.


A bright future


It is so rewarding to see how sucessful design and development can transform lifestyles:

  • a bigger kitchen can enable and share a love of social cooking…

  • a large, new garage / workshop helped one customer work with his Dad on an old classic sports car…

  • a new house designed and built in their garden freed up one couple to live mortgage-free…

  • many an open-plan dining / living room has helped bring families together (and sound-proofed music / bath rooms have helped families live peacefully together…)

  • a communal kitchen island, a cinema room, a subterranean bar for entertaining…

  • a large loft conversion (that another practice said couldn’t be done) to welcome a frequently visiting son…

  • an extra parking space positioned nearer to a former stately home for a dear elderly relative, new self-contained nanny accommodation, his and hers bathrooms with a shared dressing room, a walk-through library, a new courtyard kitchen-dining room, integrating a stunning but wasted grade 2 listed corridor…

  • a garage roof dormer big enough for a man-cave and sofa ‘with a view’ (after a previous refusal)

  • acting as the trusted central agent to deal with 23 parties (solicitors, bankers, bankers’ solicitors, planning officers, planning consultant, seller and his team, buyer and his team, agents, insurers, etc) to push through the finance, planning and sale of 10 flats that had become stuck after years of hard work…
